Series Event Structure

Event Frequency

Series events shall be hosted once each month from April through to November on designated Saturdays for a total of 8 events. Dates have been preselected to allow for promotional material to be made in advance and players to plan accordingly. In addition, dates have been chosen with a view to avoid clashing with pre-release dates. Should a clash occur, the affected date shall be adjusted by a week and promotional material will be updated accordingly. The invitational shall occur during early December.

Judge Related Information

Each event will be run at Competitive Rules Enforcement Level. Deck lists will be required and blank lists will be available for players should they require.

 

A certified Judge Academy L2 will head judge. Should player attendance exceed 32, the head judge may call for an additional judge to run the event. This will be covered by entry at R600 for Judge Academy L1 or R400 for Historical levelled judge. This judge will be activated from the event or local vicinity. The head judge will ensure contacts are known for this eventuality. Should attendance exceed 60, another judge may be required under the same basis as described above.

Prize Distribution

The philosophy of the prize structure is to distribute prizes to at least the top 33% of players. The weighting is designed to provide prizes of equal or greater value than entry to the top 25% of players and prizes of less than the value of entry to the next 8%.

 

Should attendance be under 16, there shall be a top 4 playoff and prizes will be awarded accordingly below. At the head judge’s discretion, up to 10% of the total prize support may be redistributed and issued in any form between cut-off players and/or swiss players including, but not limited to logical rounding off of values of support and draw prizes.

Prize support is to be determined by the head judge and announced latest before round 2. A similar weighting to those shown above is recommended. If no announcement is made, the 16 to 31 distribution is to be followed.
