Invitational Structure
The invitational will be Competitive REL and will take the form of double elimination with maximum of 90 minute rounds. Players will be able to start their round as soon as both parties involved are ready. They shall be permitted to use a timing device (cellphone on airplane mode) on display to both players at all times to have a unique round timer. The round timer is more to ensure timeous play than a guide for pace of play.
Deck checks will be done at random to ensure integrity during the event.
Given the recent history through 2019 where both modern and standard have gone through some very unhealthy balancing periods (Hogaak and Oko), The invitational format will not be predetermined, but rather set by the top 14 players in a vote once spots have been determined. Should there be a tie, the highest ranked player will be provided the deciding vote.
